| Blazusiak and Brown Win Heats – Aaron Earns 2nd Overall

Canadian rider Bobby Prochnau took the 7th place!
US Endurocross final: Las Vegas, NV, November 21st, 2009
RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs KTM Canada’s Bobby Prochnau made the trip to the last round of the American Endurocross Series this past weekend in Las Vegas. The 2009 CEC Champion rode an RTR Performance prepared KTM 300 XC for the event. As qualifying began the RTR Performance KTM rider shot off the start gate and rode a great heat race to finish in 3rd place. With such a talented field competing for only 11 main event spots the promoters only took the top 2 from each heat race. That meant the Troy Lee Designs sponsored rider would have to race the last qualifier to get his KTM into the big show. Prochnau took on this challenge and won the LCQ over top competitors.
When the main event rolled around the #7 of Prochnau got a great start and got to the first corner without incident unlike some of the other top riders. Battling the track and the other riders he methodically worked his 300 XC into the top 3 where he ran until a bobble in the rock pile allowed his fellow competitors to get by. As the laps went by Prochnau kept his 300 XC on two wheels and managed to avoid the downed riders and crossed the finish line in 7th place. After only competing in 2 of the 6 events this season the RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs KTM Canada rider finished a solid 11th in the series.
In the main event, the series Champion Taddy Blazusiak had a decent start rounding the first corner in 3rd place while Mike Brown’s wheel spun on the gate and caused him to have a last place start. Blazusiak quickly moved into 2nd position at the tire jump and was soon side by side with Ricky Dietrich. As they came to the right hander after the tire straight Dietrich moved over and into Blazusiak. With no where to go Blazusiak hit the ground hard causing injury to his leg. “I knew something was wrong as soon as I crashed but I am a racer and I came to win, so I was not going to retire early,” commented Blazusiak. At the end of the race, Brown eventually passed up to 9th position where he finished for the night. Geoff Aaron maintained his 2nd place position to end the season with a podium finish while Blazusiak crossed the line in 5th.

Le coureur RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs KTM Canada Bobby Prochnau a fait le voyage jusqu’à Las Vegas pour participer à la dernière course de la série américaine d’Endurocross la fin de semaine dernière. Le champion 2009 de la série CEC a roulé sur une KTM 300 XC préparée par le concessionnaire RTR Performance. À sa qualification il a eu un excellent départ et a bien roulé toute la course pour finir en 3e position. Avec autant de coureur de haut niveau les promoteurs ont pris 2 coureurs de chaque ronde de qualification pour participer à la finale. Donc le coureur Troy Lee Designs devait se qualifier pour l’événement principal en participant à la dernière chance de qualification (LCQ). Prochnau a relevé le défi en remportant cette course contre certains des meilleurs coureurs américains.
Durant la finale, le numéro 7, Prochnau a encore une fois eu un excellent départ et a passé le premier virage avec succès contrairement à plusieurs autres coureurs. Il s’est battu méthodiquement avec plusieurs coureurs réussissant ainsi à mettre sa 300 XC en 3e position. Il a gardé cette position jusqu’à ce qu’il commettre une petite erreur qui a permis à quelques rivaux de le dépasser. Il a terminé la course en ne commettant aucune autre erreur traversant la ligne d’arrivée en 7e position. Après avoir participé à seulement 2 des 6 événements de la saison, le coureur RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs KTM Canada termine en 11e position de la série.
Le champion de la série Taddy Blazusiak était en 3e position après le 1er virage durant l’événement principal pendant que son coéquipier Mike Brown a coincé une de ses roues au départ le plaçant en dernière place. Blazusiak a rapidement remonté jusqu’en 2e position et était côte à côte avec Ricky Dietrich se battant pour la 1ère place. Arrivant à un virage, Dietrich s’est déplacé vers Blazusiak causant ainsi une chute à Blazusiak et lui blessant la jambe. “Je savais que quelque chose n’allait pas dès que je suis tombé mais je suis un coureur et j’étais là pour gagner et je n’allais pas abandonner’’ a commenté Blazusiak. À la fin de la course, Brown a pris la 9e position tandis que son coéquiper Geoff Aaron a réussi à maintenir sa 2e position. Blazusiak de son côté a fini avec un top 5.
